Child Charged Following Domestic Incident In Central PA: Police

A father was hurt and a child has been charged following a domestic violence incident in central Pennsylvania on Oct. 28, police say.

Northern Lancaster County Regional police were called to a domestic violence-related assault report on Twin Brook Road in Warwick Township around 4 p.m. on Friday. 

During the investigation it was police determined fifteen-year-old boy "struck his father with a clenched fist causing contusions and visible injury," police stated in a release on Wednesday, Nov. 2. 

The father needed medical care but did not require any hospitalization due to the injury. 

The boy was charged with a summary violation of harassment. 

The police also contacted "the juvenile probation department and other social service providers to assure further coordinated actions in the best interests of the child," as stated in the release. 

The name of the child has been withheld due to his age. 

The charges were mandatory due to laws and department policy requirements in connection with domestic violence incidents, according to the release. 

"The child remains in the home with restrictions imposed on certain behaviors and follow-up by social service providers," police say.
